18 hrs on the Farm..

Friday morning I get a frantic call from my husband, then a copy of this email is sent:

We regret to inform everyone that the 18 Hours On the Farm Mountain Bike Race will not be held this weekend. The storm that hit the Goochland/Richmond area last night left the Boy Scout Camp looking as if Hurricane Isabel had been there. This decision was not made lightly and was in conjunction with recommendations made by all those associated with the host camp and the event. There is no power, thus no restrooms; conditions at this point are not sanitary, regardless of the trail conditions (trail conditions will be addressed by the work crew once we can get to them). We are doing our best to reschedule the race, as there is an incredible group of you riders that have pulled teams together/registered solo and duo/volunteered to help! Please watch your email for further information. We wanted to get this email out ASAP and sincerely apologize for not being able to control the circumstances. Thank you for your patience and please share the word with others!

so..no 3 and P team to race together ..oh well..I'm not too conernced...I look at is as though we were not supposed to race this event since it took an act of God to prevent it. Will probably ride down near Mountain Lake tomorrow.. then prep for Danville (ugh!) this coming weekend.

Off to wash the dog!
